Google pushes Pro, Ultra, and free users from open-source Gemini CLI to closed-source Antigravity CLI
Google is reportedly moving users from its open-source Gemini command-line interface to a new, closed-source alternative named the Antigravity CLI. This change is said to affect all users, including those on paid Pro and Ultra plans, who previously used the open tool.
MY TAKE
This is a disappointing move that could alienate the developer community. Shifting from an open, flexible tool to a closed-source one erodes trust and limits what engineers can build and customize.
